The desire of the artist is to depict the fullness of the potential of a subject, through the expression of
color.
We are not the color of our skin.
We are the color of our every experience, every emotion, every
dream; we are the colors of our personality in harmony with our calling.
A majority of Forain’s art is inspired by a life lived in Ghana, not just in the images depicted, but in the
process of the craft.
It is only a few months out of the year in which the artist is able to spend painting. Most of the year is
lived out working in the lakeside town of Kete-Krachi, about a day’s journey from the capital city of
Accra, Ghana. There, the role of “artist” is rather played out through the position of Counselor for an
anti-human trafficking organization, and Parent and supporter of five Ghanaian teenage boys.
